Lerici
LERICI, A SEA TOWN LOCATED BETWEEN CINQUE TERRE AND VERSILIA, IS ONE OF THE MUNICIPALITIES OVERLOOKING THE GULF OF POETS, ONE OF THE MOST SUGGESTIVE AREAS OF ALL LIGURIA.

Pearl of the Gulf of Poets, Lerici has been portrayed, described and admired by great artists of all ages and has rightfully entered Italian and foreign culture. Dante Alighieri mentions it in Purgatory, the poets of the Grand Tour such as Byron, Shelley, his wife Mary (genius creator of Frankenstein) and David Lawrence have not only talked about it, but have stayed and lived there. The symbol of the city is San Giorgio Castle which dominates and protects the entire bay from the top of a rocky promontory; thanks to its structure and its imposing size, it creates a singular contrast with the multicolored houses, typical of Liguria, which overlook and cling to it; it is considered one of the most beautiful in all Liguria, a superb example of military architecture.
The splendid walk “from Castle to Castle”, dedicated to Sem Benelli (we owe him the conception, more than 100 years ago, of the lucky and famous “logo” – as we would say today – “Golfo dei Poeti”) runs along Venere Azzurra beach… offering 2 km of true pleasure for the eyes and for the spirit and connecting Lerici with the nearby San Terenzo.
Lerici is the sea, so much so as to obtain the prestigious Blue Flag awards, but also the nature. Its territory, in fact, is included in Montemarcello Regional Natural Park, a large protected area dominated by the Mediterranean scrub: short stairways and comfortable paths allow you to reach the hilltop villages of Pugliola, Solaro, La Serra… to admire the entire Gulf above La Spezia, from the islands to the city!
Lerici è territorio non tanto da visitare, quanto da riscoprire in ogni suo aspetto: nell’euforie delle tiepide serate estive, come nella tranquillità degli assolati pomeriggi invernali.
San Terenzo
SAN TERENZO APPEARS LIKE A TIMELESS PLACE, WHOSE ESSENCE HAS REMAINED UNCHANGED, MANAGING TO KEEP THAT CONNOTATION OF A TYPICAL SEASIDE VILLAGE.
Born as a fishing village and then became a refuge for artists and intellectuals, it manages to merge the sea, the wide beach and the multicolored emotion of the unmistakable Ligurian houses into one. With its houses perched around the Castle, smaller than the one in Lerici, placed on a rocky outcrop, it closes the Gulf of Poets. San Terenzo is a place that knows how to enchant for its quiet and intimate atmosphere, suggesting walks along the promenade under the rocky cliffs of the Castle, which one can stop to sunbathe during the day or in the evening to admire the lights of the village of Lerici, to all the other parts of the gulf.
Tellaro
ONE OF THE “MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN ITALY”
Not far from Lerici, Tellaro: since 2004 is one of the “most beautiful villages in Italy”. Tellaro has the characteristic features of a coastal village of the most authentic Liguria, with the church on the sea and the short walk that winds very narrow between houses and cliffs. It is a real architectural jewel. If you look at it from the sea, the church of San Giorgio and the fortified village look like a ship ready to set sail.
