Landing at La Spezia passengers can easily reach not only the amazing Gulf of La Spezia with Lerici and Porto Venere, but they can easily visit in twenty minutes the amazing Cinque Terre and their beautiful landscapes.
Other important destinations can be reached by bus from La Spezia as well as Sarzana, Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Parma, Lunigiana and marble quarries of Carrara.
The first cruise ships COSTA CLASSICA called La Spezia on April 7th and LIBERTY OF THE SEAS on May 3rd. In 2013 La Spezia welcomed 213,858 passengers for 149 ships call.
In 2014 more than 180 cruise ships called La Spezia for a total traffic of 470,000 pax (+128%). Many companies have already chosen to call the Port of La Spezia such as: Costa Crociere, Royal Caribbean Int.l, MSC Crociere, Disney, Ibero Cruises, Carnival, Aida Cruises, Pullmantur, Regent, Horizon, Seven Seas.
On Sept 2015 a new cruise terminal “ Golfo dei Poeti – Cinque Terre Cruise Terminal Port of La Spezia”, has been also reali-zed: with an internal surface of about 1,500 sqm it can acco-modate passengers in transit and for boarding, offering wide spaces for the operative and logistics services.
In 2015 La Spezia welcomed the maiden calls of MSC Armo-nia, MSC Divina, Anthem of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, achieving a total traffic of 656,000 passengers with an increase of 38% compared to 2014.
The new Cruise Terminal 2 has:
1,450 square meters of covered area 20 seats for check –in 150 seats
16 boxes for various commercial services
With more than 660.000 passengers welcomed each year the Port of La Spezia is becoming the most interesting Cruise Port in Italy, offering an amazing destination to each and every passenger.

The Port of La Spezia guarantees a 24hour control on the port area. An adequate number of security guards are engaged in port access controls, quay gate access controls, passenger and baggage scree-ning, video – surveillance and monitoring operations.
The Terminal is equipped with X-ray scanners for hand and cabin luggage control and walk through and hand held detectors for the screening of embarking passengers. Only autho-rized vehicles and individual persons can access the Port areas.

La Spezia Port Authority is involved in the project for a new urban waterfront, which will include, in the next years, a new cruise area already been approved. Plans are cur-rently being developed for the realization of a completely new quay for cruise ships, with two berths of 393 and 339 meters, and at the same time, work is taking place on the definition of a new cruise terminal.
